Using Corpora to Explore Vocabulary for Writing Conclusions

Abstract

Every student essay or assignment contains conclusions and/ or a results section. To write these sections successfully students need to be aware of typical genre features, and to have an understanding of the appropriate vocabulary. The tasks discussed here are aimed at helping students to formulate two important constituent parts of an essay – findings and conclusions– by using concordancers.
