Abstract

This is an open sequence of text-drawing-performances that have evolved from within the practices of mindful walking during the course of the year. The drawings are improvised texts which invoke personal, and often unreliable, memories of place and the acceptance of these as evidence of being.

Water gathered from the environment of the Upper Calder Valley is used in these drawings to dissolve and manipulate the layered aquarelle pencil writings.

The textual constraint for this body of work is the map 'crows.circling.somewhere'. In effect, each drawing is a performance of an imaginary walk through the map.
