Abstract
Musicians were hard hit by the pandemic. The author takes us through the changes from being a full-time touring musician to becoming a stay-at-home dad, caring for four children and a wife whose medical condition required the family to shield. He draws on the main existential concerns of authenticity, freedom, time and relatedness offering a unique view into the world of the professional musician when life is stopped short, and the future is full of uncertainty.
