Working collaboratively on publications and conference presentations: valuing student midwives' contribution to the future of midwifery

Research output: Contribution to specialist publicationLetter

Abstract

I have been a lecturer in midwifery for four years and I recently supported a senior undergraduate student in recognising the quality of her final stage dissertation. Reading Alex's work reminded me of how students on the cusp of qualifying and registration are the future of the profession. Her work was relevant to midwifery right now at this moment, and makes valuable contribution to what is already published. With a little support and guidance, Alex has both published her work in a midwifery journal and also presented at a national conference in the UK.
